Mikado is a Finnish artist and music video director based in Japan.

His work frequently combines different media and forms of expression, utilizing both digital and analog film formats. His pieces often incorporate various metacinematic elements, such as multi-screen projections or re-shooting of material projected onto a screen.

Mikado’s practice is driven by an experimental curiosity toward the sometimes unexpected possibilities these combinations offer, how one material reacts with another, and how different formats can open up new avenues for interpretation.

Alongside his artistic work, he has conducted research on the filmmaker Yasujiro Ozu at Nagoya University.

A Nagoya-based musician. Started piano in early childhood and percussion in junior high, then majored in percussion at music college. Currently active both solo and as part of the percussive duo “SONOYO,” among other projects.

Built on a love for nameless phenomena and the world that holds them, and on a search for personal cultural identity, the work takes shape as music.

Released the EP “mo:yu” in 2023, and in July 2025 held a solo sound installation focused on the texture of materials. Continues to widen its scope — including the film-and-location-focused creative team “Pixel Collective” and the quarry event “Sound Pit.”

Originally from Nagoya. After earning an MFA, she worked as university staff and joined FabCafe Nagoya. In parallel, she creates works transforming organisms and environments using microscopy and handcrafted inks.

Her long-term goal is to establish a residential base that opens up her inquiry as an experiential stay. With this in mind, she directs the public art initiative "OMOTEDE," manages art spaces, and coordinates cultural projects. In 2026, she moved to Kanto to launch a new art facility, working as an artworker connecting communities, business, and creativity.

Her favorite food is strawberries.
